Ad Hoc Reports Ad Hoc Reports
One of the most powerful user features in IDS is the Ad Hoc Reporter. Users can easily create reports with multiple groups and subtotals per group with no programming or syntax knowledge required. Administrators can publish data from tables or views and specify available columns and their formatting.

Custom Forms, Reports, and Processes Custom Forms, Reports, and Processes
Developers are provided with a broad set of tools for constructing live data entry forms, filterable inquiry screens, specialized reports for preprinted stock, and dynamic batch processes for automated tasks. Modal dialogs can also be constructed to process user input related to a form, report or process.

Heterogeneous Data Access Heterogeneous Data Access
IDS supports any standard ODBC database (such as SQL Server, Oracle, or Sybase) as well as other common formats (including Access, dBase, Excel, and ASCII text). Database connections are table-driven, and thus can be easily re-routed as needed.

Intuitive Interface Intuitive Interface
Our Explorer-style menu tree provides easy access to forms, reports, processes, web sites and even other applications. We employ an elegant set of form controls that users can quickly master. Administrators can modify look and feel of the interface with no coding required.

Built-In Security Built-In Security
IDS includes a group-based security system that is flexible and powerful while remaining easy to define and maintain. Users may belong to multiple groups, inheriting rights from the most trusted group to which they belong. Menu tree items may be hidden from specific user groups; visible items are launched with add/change/delete rights. IDS recognizes underlying database rights and data integrity rules.

xVBA Code Library xVBA Code Library
IDS includes the xVBA code library. xVBA functions and procedures range from high-level commands that manipulate objects and databases to low-level commands that parse tokens and characters. xVBA objects provide interfaces to the menu tree system, security, lookup tables, environment options, setup tables, Ad Hoc reports, and more. Copy-and-paste controls and shortcut launchers are also included.
